Week 24

September 25, 2018

You guys! I am closing in on my third trimester, I cannot comprehend that I’m finishing up my fifth month of being pregnant. Where did the time go? I know I’m going to be saying this a lot but really, where did it? I just had my 24th-week appointment and it went so well. We learned a lot and discussed how our appointments will be changing and increasing, as well as discussing more about birth plans. This is being published at 25 weeks so here’s a bump photo at 25 weeks.

The basics:
How far along?

24 Weeks and six days. I’ll be 25 weeks when this is published.

Due date:
January 8th, 2019

All about the baby:
Size of baby:
A cantaloupe! How in the world is my baby the size of a cantaloupe?
Baby is about 12 inches now and officially weighs about 1.3-1.5lbs.

Have you decided on a name?
Yes, we have a name. We are struggling to figure out a middle name though so we’ve had our eyes searching. To be honest, I haven’t really been looking for a middle name but the ones we’ve thought about don’t really quite fit. I’m sure once we see it, we’ll know, or at least I’m hoping! We are still holding strong with our decision to not share the name until we announce we have our little one in our arms.

All about momma:
Weight Gain:
It seems like I’m finally gaining. I gained another 2lbs, however, I’m still down 23 lbs. From here out, I should be gaining about 1.5lb per week until my due date. This means by my next appointment I should be at a minimum 4-6lbs heavier. Baby will be growing a lot faster now so hopefully, that will help me out.

How are you feeling?
I think I finally hit the pregnancy glow! My face broke out a little bit and I, unfortunately, get heartburn if I have sugar but I feel fantastic finally. I have officially started to feel sore in my back and abdomen which seemed to happen overnight but I’m not taking anything for it. I just moan and groan a little bit if I move a certain way. Now that I’m feeling really good, I offer to help people out with things, not forgetting that I’m pregnant but I don’t exactly feel hindered either, they always tell me no though because usually, it’s moving boxes or something physical.

Are you having any cravings?
I’m still not really craving anything. I’m still on my pumpkin spice kick but I feel like that’s normal Rachel every fall. I might be broken.

How are you sleeping?
I’ve been sleeping so well! I haven’t been drinking much water the latter half of the day so I’ve been sleeping through the night but I feel so parched when I wake up. I have noticed that it’s a little tough falling asleep though because I just can’t get comfy now.

Maternity Favorites:
My snoogle is still my favorite and I have a huge fluffy robe that I love to wear in the morning when I’m chilly. That’s about it though.

What are you excited about?
I’m excited about getting a move on with our nursery. I’m starting to get anxiety about not having everything together in time but we finally moved Conor’s stuff into the bedroom and this coming weekend we’ll be picking up a new bookshelf to replace the ones in the nursery. We don’t want them in there and they’re kind of old so they’re not safe either.

The next bumpdate will probably be right before my 28th-week appointment. Cannot believe it’s coming this fast!
