It is no secret that for quite a few years I’ve been really into harem pants. They’re beautiful and incredibly comfortable. The past year I keep seeing more and more harem or harem like pants popping up in places like Forever 21, Target and other fast fashion companies. This, as you can imagine disappoints me because one of the reasons I love harem pants is because of the handmade and custom patterns that you can only get from artisans. With this increased popularity though, finding companies that offer ethical harem pants have been easier than ever. These Bohemian Island Harem Pants are the newest to my closet but they’ve already made it to my favorites list!

I think my real love for having so many pairs of Harem Pants came out of wanting to be comfy in college but still look put together, despite putting little to no effort into my outfit. Let’s be real, running around, sitting in class and then studying for crazy hours call for comfort! I could live in these pants everyday and a huge plus is being able to practice yoga whenever I feel the need, which usually comes in the middle of writing a large paper. When I was approached to write a review for Bohemian Island I couldn’t wait to check out the different patterns and colors they had in stock. Let me tell you, it was the toughest challenge to decide on which to review.
Bohemian Island is a small company that sells Thai Harem Yoga Pants that are ethically made in Thailand using local materials. All the materials are sourced from a family run factory that prides itself on excellent and safe working conditions and fair wages for all workers. The products are all handmade in Thailand. In addition to having an ethically sourced product, Bohemian Island donates 10% of their proceeds to the Soi Dog Foundation which helps over 1,000 stray dogs and cats a month in Phuket.
After making a really tough decision I decided on getting the Lavender Peacock Harem Pants because of how unique they looked and how bright they seemed on the website. When the package arrived from Thailand I was so surprised by how vibrant the colors really were. Sometimes on websites product lighting makes things look brighter than what they really are but Bohemian Island did not disappoint, the pants looked wonderful. It did take me a day to try them on because even though the sizing said they would fit I was so hesitant since my body has changed so much this year. When I put them on, wow is all I have to say. They were incredibly comfortable and fit every inch of me. I do practice yoga in them but I probably won’t be doing any splits until I’m back in the shape that I want to be. If you are smaller than me then totally go for it!
I’ve seen quite a few ladies doing incredible yoga poses in these pants because they’re so well made. You don’t have to worry about stretching them or ripping them since the quality is really great. When I went out in them I actually got a few compliments, I’m used to getting stares wearing bright pants so someone actually saying something was nice. One feature about these pants that I really like is the pocket! Most of my other harem pants don’t have pockets so I was really happy with noticing this.
Overall, I’m so happy with these pants and I do plan on purchasing at least one more pair before the summer is over. I have my heart set on getting either the Turquoise Aztec Harem Pants or the White Peacock Harem Pants. I can’t get over these unique and beautiful patterns!
