I wrote about my new subscription box order awhile ago and you can find the whole introduction to this Causebox here. I received my Causebox back in December but didn’t have the opportunity to write about my box until now. This is the first subscription box that I’ve found that not only offers products that I’m looking for but also at an affordable rate. The best part about this box is that I get to try out different products from brands that I either know about and haven’t had the opportunity to purchase from because of the price or from brands that are new to me.
I opened up my box up and was greeted with this card explaining the box to me and thanking me for purchasing it. It also encourages me to share my unboxing story, so here we are!
My card it revealed a list of everything inside my box; this list includes exactly what the company is, the product, retail value and a little snippet of what my item is. So including all the great products that are impacting and changing lives by employing and empowering women, this box also donates $7 to a charity and provides one meal to someone.
Underneath my card are all my goodies neatly wrapped up in tissue paper and safely secured with this “People Matter” sticker. The presentation of everything was quite lovely and more than what I had expected honestly.
Below is a photo of all the products after I rummaged through everything, I promise that it was all neatly packed!
The first thing I noticed and was so excited for was the fashionABLE scarf. I’ve been dying to buy one of these scarves, I just haven’t committed to it because it’s difficult for me to spend more than twenty dollars on something like a scarf. It was handmade in Ethiopia ad named after one of the women who helped to create it. FashionABLE is a business that is not only sustainable but also immediately impacts the women working with them. The scarf is beautiful but it is very lightweight, not a scarf I would typically wear in winter. I tried matching it to my winter wardrobe but was having a tough time because it just feels like a spring/summer scarf. I love it, I just might wait a few months before wearing it out. The retail value is $32.
“Because of your purchase, I am ABLE to… raise my family well.” – Alem
Finding this gem in my box got me so excited. This is a Sseko Half Moon Clutch, I love having little purses, cases and other things to put things in to organize my actual purse. Sseko is a company I already knew about and was again on my “want to purchase eventually” list. Sseko wants to educate and empower underprivileged women while providing you with vintage inspired handcrafted products from Ethiopia. I tried finding this in their store but couldn’t seem to, however they have plenty other beautiful handmade products. The retail value of this clutch was $15.99.
Matterial Fix was a company I had heard of but never took the time to investigate myself. I am so happy that they included this small Elephant Pendant Necklace (so sorry I didn’t take a picture of the actual necklace!). It is positively darling, I love elephants and it matches my personal style. The best part is that this little piece of jewelry helps to support and restore victims of sex-trafficking in India. This elephant necklace is a symbol and expression of elegance, redemption and empowerment. The necklace is gold plated on top of brass so be careful if your’e cooking or baking. I bent over to take cookies out of the oven and the necklace heated up really quickly, I never had this happen before so I was more startled than anything else. I’ve been wearing this necklace quite often and I’m incredibly happy it was included in the box. The retail value is $44.
How do you win my heart? Anything that is dark chocolate or even better dark chocolate covered. How do you keep me coming back for more? Mixing chocolate and social justice. sweetriot is a woman owned company that supports fair trade practices and builds relationships with its farmers. I’ve actually bought their chocolate bars before but I’ve never seen these chocolate covered cacao nibs. I might be ordering a box online! The retail value is $4.19 but you have to purchase in bulk online.
I have always wanted to try This Bar Saves Lives but I’ve never wanted to purchase a box of granola bars online for twenty dollars and end up hating them. These bars are non-gmo, rainforest certified, gluten free and fair trade; and happen to be the best granola bars I have ever tasted. The best part is that these bars do exactly what their name states: This Bar Saves Lives. For every bar sold a child receives a meal or more specifically a PlumpyNut. PlumpyNut’s are nutrient and calorie rich meals that are life saving for impoverished children. I did get a coupon for 20% off an order of granola bars so I’m absolutely ordering boxes upon boxes. Retail value is $2.69
This is the Sevenly Change for Change jar, its’ retail value is $18. Your’e supposed to put all your extra change into the jar and when it’s full you make a donation to a charity. I love that it matches my apartment while doing good. I’m also a culprit of having change laying all around my home and now I have a place for it rather than under my couch.
When I went through my box I was so excited that I had something from a company that I haven’t heard of yet. This is a Thank You Card Set, Sealing Wax and Wax Press from Gramr Gratitude Co. I received about five different thank you cards and a full size was press and sealing wax which would typically cost you $43. Gramr Gratitude Co believes in sharing gratitude and thanking people in a more personal way rather than sending a facebook message. Not only does it feel great to do something for someone else but that person you are thanking would never expect a thank you like this. Small things can brighten someones day and these thank you cards are perfect for this. The cards are 100% sustainable, made with soy ink, 10 cents per card is donated, and they are all made in America supporting American jobs. I’m glad that Sevenly included something in the Causebox that I could do for someone else.
These are Sevenly stickers, each has a quote about changing the world. The retail value for this sticker pack is $7 and who doesn’t love stickers!
So after going through my first box I have to say I absolutely love it and if you have $50 to spend I would spend it here. The total value in this box is $166.87 but the real value is the impact each of these items are making on someones life. I cannot wait for my next box in springtime! If you’re interested in getting your own Causebox click here! Thank you Sevenly for making something that not only matters but really had your world changer audience in mind! I cannot express enough my love for this subscription box, I promise you will not be disappointed!
