Warning, I’m obsessed with Christmas… So Happy November or what I like to call Christmas Prep Month (Prior to Christmas Month). Since I am a newlywed I have so many goals and plans for this month. I really want to complete all of them so I actually made a goal “center” at my desk.
Basically it’s a little sidewall that I’ve hung up my goals by category and I have extra post it notes just in case I come up with another goal or an idea about how to complete or get to my goal. So here are just a few of my goals for them month!
+ Update my budget: I’ve been doing really great with my budget but after buying things for our wedding, I have to just go back and look over where I’m at. What I did this week to save a little money was eat what I had in my cabinets and oh my, do I have a ton of soup and food I need to eat and get rid of.
+ Workout: So the week leading up to our wedding and midterms I totally neglected my workout routines and did not utilize my gym membership. So my goals are to do my workout videos when Conor has work and to make sure that when he has off we do go to the gym consistently again. When Conor has work I have no way of getting to the gym so workout videos will have to do on those days.
+ Update my Daily Schedule: Again, with the lead up to the wedding and midterms, my daily schedules kind of got messed up and I need to get my sleep schedule together along with getting motivated to stick to my schedule.
+ Start Learning French: Okay so this is odd but it’s something that seriously needs to begin happening, I need to be able to read and do research in French for my Masters degree and I haven’t even begun to study. My reading proficiency will be tested in about a year and a half so I need to get moving!
+ Maintain my Grades: I’ve been doing really well in my Master’s program and I’m so proud of myself. I have half a semester left and it ends the week before Christmas so I want to finish strong.
+ Organize my Readings: I kind of threw my readings everywhere, they are literally everyone in our bedroom/my office. I have about ten readings on my nightstand, binders on the dresser, plenty on the floor in piles next to my desk. Midterms wrecked havoc on my whole life.
+ Participate More in Class: I am an auditory learner, I like to listen to what’s going on and when I feel like I need to think about something really relevant to say and something that has value, I honestly get that much more distracted and I don’t get as much out of class. So I decided that I’m going to pick out one of the readings from each class and reread it for a third time to develop a few comments and questions. I hope this won’t be a waste of my time. I’m hoping that this will help me much more in my understanding of the material.
+ Balance: I’ve been struggling with balance in my life overall. When things happen in my life they seem to happen all at once. So when this happens I unfortunately put my blog on the back burner when this happens. What I want to do now though is change this and make sure I have a plan for when things go wrong.
+ Twitter: I’ve neglected twitter because I never really knew what to use it for. I’ve learned a lot and I’ve been using it more and more so I’m paying close attention to twitter from now on.
+ Instagram: I use instagram daily but I’ve been working harder to make my profile seamless and look more cohesive. I’ve also been steadily growing my following on instagram but I want to see more substantial growth.
+ Mentoring: I’m in different blogging partnerships right now which will help me and my partners get better at doing what we do. It’s a great opportunity to learn new tricks and get new opinions on your work. I would really like these mentoring and partnership programs to be successful.
Look! I can actually have a section for marriage goals, how exciting!!
+ Date my Husband: At a point Conor and I slowed our dates because we’re always with each other anyway and we wanted to save money so this month we have two really special dates planned. I want to have those dates go according to plan and I want to plan more!
+ Surprises: I surprised my husband on Halloween and sent him to work with lots of treats, so I would like to do something similar a few more times for him and his coworkers. They loved the apple cider doughnuts and pumpkin spice cookies so much that they wanted me me to come back and meet them all.
+ Maintain the Home: Okay so this may sound so domestic but I want to make sure that Conor comes home to a clean house and just ready for him to relax. We finally got everything put away after the wedding so now I just want to make sure it stays together.
+ Be His Rock: With waiting for med school invites and interviews, Conor is stressed out. I want to support him and be there at a moments notice if he needs me to just listen or just remind him that he’ll get there and be successful
Let me know what goals you have for this month and let me know if you have any tips to help me achieve mine!
