The first time I met Jedidiah Jenkins was over a weekend activist summit called the Fourth Estate. We only very briefly spoke about what it means to connect with people across the world and while I don’t remember exactly the words we exchanged I do remember that I felt they were very profound. There were so many talks and discussions with so many people and the inspiration was just overflowing that if I didn’t write things down it was tough to remember each detail. When my children ask me who was one of the most inspirational people I knew, I would say Jed.
In 2013, Jedidiah started his journey from Oregon to Patagonia, and his transportation of choice: his bicycle. His mother and father had walked across the United States together and Jed decided to make a radical change on his 30th year and start his journey where his parents’ ended. Below is a trailer for a documentary about his journey. To learn more about Jedidiah or his thousand year journey you can also go to his instagram @JedidiahJenkins
