Before the holidays I was nominated for the Liebster Award by Trissa, her blog is called Trissa Marie and it’s positively lovely. Her blog is packed with so many great things you can sew, make and bake at home, if you have time off from work or school you should really look through her how to’s. The Liebster Award is for small bloggers(under 200 followers) or bloggers who are just starting out to help them develop their reader and fan base.
Trissa provided me with eleven questions and IÂ answered all of them below. Then you will see a list of bloggers that I have nominated for the award who have less than 200 followers on Facebook or bloglovin, these bloggers will then answer the questions I provided to them and the cycle continues!
These are my questions:
1. How did you decide on the title of your blog?
There’s an incredible amount of meaning behind the name of my blog and I’ll be writing a lengthy post about it this coming January. The short version of it is that I want to be authentic, I want to be myself and I don’t want to boil myself down to a label or a stereotype. I’m human, I make mistakes and I’m just me. There is also another side to the name Choosing Human and it comes from my love of people and humanity. With every choice I make as a person or a consumer I want to do good by people, not corporations and big money. I try to choose humanity over saving a few dollars or some time. I’m a pursuer of human rights and social justice.
2. What one word sums up the heart of your blog and why?
Human, I’ll explain this one in another post coming up in a few weeks.
3. What’s your favorite pastime other than blogging?
I love adventuring with Conor and taking photos while we do so. It doesn’t matter if we are on a road trip, in another country or just trying to find a new tea shop; I love working with him to get to a destination while enjoying our journey.
4. What is your favorite aspect of blogging?
My favorite aspect of blogging is having a place to share my story with others and discovering the story of others.
5. Which recipe, project, or idea on my blog would you most like to try yourself?
Probably the banana bread. I love anything bananas and a nice moist banana bread is something I love to eat in the morning with tea.
6. Where does your blog inspiration come from?
My blog is a second home for me so all my inspiration comes from just my life, what’s changing, and the relationships I have.
7. What is one country in the world you would like to visit? Why?
Well I went to Italy and that was my number one dream so my second would be Thailand or Bali
8. If you have children, what are their names? If not, what are your favorite boy & girl names?
I’m sorry but I cannot disclose this information. I can tell you that they are beautiful names and they might be very Italian but otherwise no one is allowed to know until I have kids.
9. A long-lost relative leaves you a large sum of money. What do you do with it?
I would travel with Conor to as many places as we possibly could given his school schedule. I would pay off our bills and donate some to my favorite charities (Mercy Corps, Invisible Children, Charity:Water, etc)
10. In your opinion, what is the best blog post you’ve written so far? (Include the link!)
The best blog post I have written so far is “How I Changed and Healed My Skin Naturally”
http://goo.gl/TlzdEP I say this because it took me so much effort to put myself and my photos out there for the world to see. Especially since for so long I’ve been uncomfortable in my skin but now I’ve been getting messages from people telling me how much they valued the information I put out there and that is what made it all worth it.
11. Where do you see yourself in five years time?
I hope that Conor and I will be married, Conor will be in Medschool or heading into residency (I’m not 100% sure of the medschool timeline), I will have a masters degree or in a program. I would also love to see this blog grow!
